Cristiano Ronaldo `used surrogate mother`
Cristiano Ronaldo paid a surrogate to give birth to his baby, it has been alleged.
The Portuguese soccer star sensationally announced he had become a father to a baby boy on his Twitter and Facebook accounts over the weekend. He refused to reveal the identity of the child`s mother, but confirmed he would be taking sole legal and physical custody of the tot, who was born on June 17.
Portuguese newspaper Diario de Noticias has now claimed that Ronaldo paid a surrogate to conceive and carry his baby while he was on holiday in San Diego last year. The publication reports that the sports star travelled to meet his son as soon as Portugal was eliminated from the FIFA World Cup on June 29.
No further details of Ronaldo`s agreement with the alleged surrogate mother were given.
Meanwhile, the star`s sister Katia Aveiro has revealed her brother is extremely proud to be a parent. She has also claimed the baby is a spitting image of his famous father.
"He`s very happy, of course! Who isn`t happy having children? The baby looks like him, although he`s still very small to see what his features will be like," Katia told Diario de Noticias.
"He`s very calm, he just eats and sleeps. He has brown eyes and brown hair like Cristiano."
Katia said Ronaldo would reveal the baby`s name when he returns from Madrid, where he is believed to be working.
It has previously been claimed that the mother of the child is a woman Ronaldo had a brief fling with, and whom he paid to relinquish custody and keep quiet.
